King Kong at Comic-Con International

Here's an illustration that I submitted to the 2008 San Diego Comic‑Con Souvenir Book to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the original King Kong - page 88.

I'll be working the Society of Illustrators of Los Angeles booth July, 23rd - 27th and participating on a panel discussion Saturday, July 26th.

About the booth - Booth #2616. Located in the main exhibit space across from and next to Dark Horse Comics, Bongo Comics / Simpsons, and the industry machine known as Marvel Entertainment.

About the panel - 3:30-4:30 The Society of Illustrators of Los Angeles (SILA) invites you to take part in a history-making announcement about comics and Illustration West 47...

Stop by and say "Hi". I look forward to meeting you.

Happy Birthday Linda!

Fortune says that there is a large family style Chinese dinner in your future.

UPDATE 7/13: In fact 'Ruthie Baby' and I joined Linda for a great celebratory meal at one of our favorite restaurants in Pasadena.

Carmen Schilaci

A Master PrintMaker - At Gemini G.E.L here in Los Angeles he has worked directly with the likes of Edward Ruscha, Richard Serra, Vija Celmins, Richard Diebenkorn, Toba Khedoori, Robert Rauschenberg, and others to produce some of the most recognized images from these artists of our time.
Printmaking mentor - Patiently and consistently offers doable solutions to printing problems that range from common to complex. Dare I say 'genius'?

When not in the lab, Carmen is hard at work in his studio producing sculptures and working on mixed media projects for future gallery shows.

Top image is my original drawing...following is a photo litho (intentionally reversed) of the same image.
